At Picayune Eye Clinic, Dr. Lori Blackmer and our entire Picayune optometry team are committed to providing advanced vision care in a professional and comfortable environment. As an optometrist in Picayune, our primary eye care service includes a complete eye exam that analyzes eye health and vision function. In addition to eye exams and vision testing, Dr. Blackmer and our team of optometry professionals provide testing for glaucoma, cataracts and macular degeneration. Our Picayune optometrist also offers glasses, contact lenses, and pre- and post-operative care.

Eye Exams

Dr. Blackmer and the Picayune Eye Clinic team take even routine eye exams very seriously. During a yearly or bi-yearly examination, our Picayune patients will receive a patient history review, a series of vision and eye tests, assessments of eye focusing and movement, and an eye health evaluation. Our optometrist will discuss any additional testing that may be required to diagnose an eye disease or condition. Call us a today at (601) 798-4182 to schedule an appointment.

Laser assisted in situ keratomileusis, commonly referred to as LASIK, is a corrective alternative to glasses or contact lenses. Like glasses or contact lenses, LASIK is a method for treating refractive conditions including nearsightedness (myopia), farsightedness (hyperopia), and astigmatism. At Picayune Eye Clinic, Dr. Blackmer provides pre- and post-operative exams for LASIK and other eye procedures. Call (601) 798-4182 today to schedule an examination to see whether you are a candidate for LASIK.

The newest addition is the LIPIFLOW. LIPIFLOW is the only FDA cleared device for removing gland blockage and restoring gland function. LIPIFLOW is a painless treatment that can increase eye comfort by improving tear quality.

ERG and VEP:

The visual evoked potential (VEP) and electroretinogram (ERG) are two tests which can give us clues about the working of the visual pathway from the eye along the optic nerve to the brain. These tests can be very useful for patients having vision problems.

Used to track the progression of glaucoma and macular degeneration and to monitor treatment.  Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) is a non invasive diagnostic instrument used for imaging the retina. It is the technology for the future because it can enhance patient care. It has the ability to detect problems in the eye prior to any symptoms being present in the patient.

These are just some of the services offered by Dr. Blackmer and her staff at Picayune Eye Clinic but there are many more.
